I was going for something, but I should have used a smaller aperture for greater depth of field. There were light limitations.
I like the concept. Could you have bumped up the iso? This may have allowed you to have more flexibility with the aperture.
Yes, good point. I also had an impatient 5-year-old in tow that made my subject a bit antsy and my photographic reflexes a bit slower than usual. I’ll keep practicing
